Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
Vidment is operated by Adam Zając (NIP: 7621908389) (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller for the personal data processed through the Vidment mobile application and website.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Device Identifier
When you first open the app, we generate a random device ID (UUID). This serves as your anonymous identity — we do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personal identifier. Your device ID is retained until you request deletion.
2.2 Videos and Thumbnails
When you record and upload a video, we store the video file and an auto-generated thumbnail on our servers. Videos are automatically and permanently deleted at the expiry time you choose (1–24 hours after upload). Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.
2.3 Location Data
If you grant location permission, we capture your approximate location (latitude and longitude) at the time of video upload. This data powers the “Nearby” feed. Location data is stored only with the associated video and is permanently deleted when the video expires.
2.4 EULA Acceptance Records
We record when you accept our End User License Agreement, including which version you accepted and the timestamp. This is retained for legal compliance until you request account deletion.
2.5 Content Flags
If you flag another user's video for inappropriate content, we record your device ID, the flagged video ID, the reason, and the timestamp. Flag records are retained for content moderation and safety purposes.
2.6 Server Logs
Our servers automatically log request metadata: IP address, user agent, request path, and a random request ID. Server logs are retained for 30 days for security and debugging purposes, then permanently deleted.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Device ID: to authenticate your device and associate your uploaded content with you.
- Videos & thumbnails: to host, transcode, and serve your content via the app and web player for the video's lifetime.
- Location: to show your video in the Nearby feed for other users in your area.
- EULA records: to demonstrate your consent to our terms.
- Flags: to enforce our content policies and protect the community.
- Server logs: to detect abuse, debug issues, and maintain security.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR Article 6)
- Consent: location capture (you grant permission in the app), video upload (you choose to record and share).
- Legitimate interest: device authentication, server logging for security, content moderation.
- Legal obligation: EULA acceptance records, responding to lawful data requests.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Your videos are visible to other Vidment users via the app's feeds and to anyone with a share link via the web player, for the duration of the video's lifetime.

7. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict processing
- Data portability
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest

8. Data Deletion
You can request deletion of all your data at any time. See our Data Deletion page for instructions. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
9. Children
Vidment is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child under 16 is using the app, please contact us at vidment@adamzajac.info.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have violated your data protection rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish Data Protection Authority (UODO): uodo.gov.pl.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
